1952, Leader has distributed manufacturers’
surplus and problematic inventory to a stable,
volume-buying population from its headquarters
in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Leader resells both
confectionery inventories from multi-national
manufacturers such as: Hershey, Cadbury,
and Nestle, and a considerable range of
grocery, frozen, and cleaning items from
manufacturers such as Kraft and Procter
& Gamble.
Leader supplies primarily to a specific
market of communal religious colonies in
Western Canada and the United States - the
largest farming co-operatives in North America.
Currently Leader is the dominant distributor
of wholesale merchandise to 50,000 consumers
on 670 colonies. Over the course of Leader’s
53-year history, these colonies have comprised
a consistently stable and captive market
for closeout merchandise.
With its warehouse and headquarters in the
thriving St. James retail and industrial
district, Leader is ideally located along
side Route 90 - the city’s busiest
thoroughfare - and just minutes from Winnipeg
International Airport and the city centre.
